NPRe, an independent (re)insurer, announced the appointment of Andrew Mirfin as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective May 8th 2026.
Mirfin previously served as Chief Executive Officer at Building Block where he began as Head of Distribution. He started his insurance career in 1997 in regional sales at General Accident insurance, and brings decades of experience in
NPRe operates across the Caribbean, the UK and Europe, providing risk solutions for MGAs, brokers, small and developing cedents, mutuals, captives and lenders. The company emphasises expert-led evaluation rather than algorithmic underwriting, ensuring alignment and sustainable long-term partnerships.
Mirfin joins NPRe as 2026 marks the company’s 10-year anniversary and during a period of significant growth. According to NPRe’s audited FY2024 results, the company achieved Gross Written Premium of $400.9 million (from $249.4 million in 2023). The net income has grown to $8.4 million from £4.720m in 2023. NPRe’s total assets are at $768.9 million after a 47% year-on-year increase.
